A man has been arrested in Mexico after shooting a Texas mother of four to death.

A man was arrested in Mexico after authorities said he forced a Texas mother of four into her own car before shooting her to death, police said Wednesday.

Daniel Chacon, 38, was being held in custody in Mexico after he was arrested by Mexican authorities late Wednesday, according to the Associated Press. The arrest came after Maira Gutierrez’s body was found in her car Tuesday night by police investigating reports of gunfire in northwest Harris County.

A preliminary investigation suggested that Chacon forced Gutierrez into her car before shooting her, officials said. Chacon is also being investigated for kidnapping the mother of four’s four children, ages 6 to 16, as they were walking home from a local park.

They were found safe at a nearby apartment complex. Chacon was already being investigated for kidnapping another woman earlier this month, according to reports. Police did not immediately return The Daily Beast’s request for comment.
