An actor best known for his work on the long–running TV franchise ‘Law & Order’ has been charged in the February shooting death of a Jamaica, Queens man.
Isaiah Stokes, 54, allegedly shot Timothy Lewis in the back during a road rage incident and then tried to destroy evidence, according to a criminal complaint. Surveillance video showed Stokes allegedly driving a silver Hyundai Tucson behind Lewis’ Chevrolet Malibu at a high speed before the fatal shooting.
The Queens DA’s office said Stokes had prior convictions for assault and weapons offenses, and was currently on parole for another gun charge.
He was arraigned Friday and charged with murder, manslaughter, criminal possession of a weapon and tampering with evidence.
In a statement, the TV show that recently hired Stokes said, “We were recently made aware of these extremely serious allegations and are closely reviewing the situation.”
CNN’s Anderson Cooper is engaged to model and performance artist Reena Parikh, the anchor announced Friday. The couple started dating in 2017, and have a two–year–old son together.
