The cast and creators of the beloved ‘90s television show Boy Meets World are back with a new podcast, Pod Meets World. Will Friedle, Danielle Fishel, and Rider Strong, the stars of the show, have been reflecting on their experiences and revisiting the show with a whole new appreciation. This podcast is a journey for the cast and the fans alike, giving everyone the chance to reconnect with the show as well as gain insight from the people who made it.
The Cast’s Journey
The cast is taking a unique approach to the podcast. Instead of critiquing themselves, they are looking at the show from a fan’s perspective. They’re going back and talking about their days on set, sharing stories, and reading the comments and feedback from fans. Will and Rider have seen some of the episodes, while Danielle hadn’t seen any when they started the podcast. It’s been a journey of rediscovery for all three of them.
Favorite Craft Services Moments
When they weren’t filming, the cast spent a lot of time on set in school and craft services. They had some favorite pastimes, such as grape tossing and eating blue Otter Pops. Will could throw a grape so far up into the sky and catch it in his mouth every time. They even had a shirt dedicated to Otter Pops!
Guest Stars
The cast has already gotten the chance to connect with some of the show’s guest stars. They’ve had the director of the first two seasons, David Trainer, and William Russ, who played the Matthews’ dad, on the podcast. They’ve also had Bill Daniels, who played Mr. Turner, and they have Trina McGee scheduled to appear. They’re reaching out to as many of the crew and cast as they can, and they’re looking forward to hearing more stories and feedback from the fans.
Where the Characters Are Now
When looking back at the show, the cast imagines where their characters would be in 2020. Will has always said that Eric would be President, and Rider and Danielle both want to see Shawn and Topanga happily raising a family.
What the Podcast Has Taught Them
The podcast has taught the cast a deep appreciation for the quality of the show. They’ve been so impressed with the storytelling and the depth of the characters. They’ve been especially impressed with Ben’s performance from such a young age. The podcast has also taught them the importance of taking time to appreciate the work they did and the people they worked with.
The cast is eager to keep connecting with fans, so if you have any requests for the podcast, you can reach out at podmeetsworldshow@gmail.com.
