Field star Raven Saunders’ mother, Clarissa Saunders, dies

Field star Raven Saunders mother, Clarissa Saunders, has died, according to WTVD.

The news outlet reports that Saunders mother died in late August, days after her daughter won the silver medal in the 100meter hurdles at the Tokyo Olympics.

Saunders, 27, announced her mothers passing on Instagram Sunday, saying she wasby my side when she won the medal.

My mama was a great woman and will forever live through me, she wrote.

Saunders, who grew up in Pennsylvania, has also said that she believes her mothers support and love helped her win the medal.

She has not said when or where her mother died.
