Canal and Picture Company Purchase Rights to April Wolfe’s ‘Honey Trapped’
April Wolfe is the author of the spec script known as “Honey Trapped.” Both StudioCanal and The Picture Company did their own individual due diligence and purchased the rights to it.
According to the information provided by our sources, the story follows a group of shadowy assassins who travel to Las Vegas for a single day in order to engage in a bloody battle with a renegade agent that will take place across every floor of a crowded hotel.
It’s been said that the script is a star-driven two-hander about a troubled marriage with a lot of secrets, similar to the way that Mr. and Mrs. Smith and True Lies were written. The goal is to bring the project to a successful end as quickly as possible.
Andrew Rona and Alex Heineman, both of whom work for The Picture Company, will direct the film. They will collaborate with Studiocanal to produce the film as part of the overall deal that was struck between the two parties.
Ron Halpern, Shana Eddy, and Sam Shipp are the people who are in charge of Studiocanal.
The upcoming psychological thriller Clawfoot was written by Wolfe, as was the film Black Christmas, which will be released in 2019 and for which he will also co-write.
She has worked as a journalist and critic in the past, but these days she creates movies and television shows for HBO, Fifth Season, and XYZ Films that span a wide variety of genres.
Studiocanal Acquires Rights to Adapt The Lost Leonardo into a Television Series
Because of a long-term agreement between Studiocanal and The Picture Company, Studiocanal, which is one of the most important studios in Europe, receives a significant amount of content from The Picture Company.
The acquisition of the rights to adapt the critically acclaimed documentary The Lost Leonardo into a television series was just completed by the two companies.
They also have three movies that are currently in the post-production phase, including Roly Play, which stars Kaley Cuoco and David Oyelowo and will be distributed by Amazon in 2019, and Retribution, which stars Liam Neeson and just recently secured a major distribution deal with Lionsgate.
Baghead, a horror film starring Freya Allan (The Witcher) and Dominic Cooper, is nearing completion thanks to the combined efforts of the two production companies. Because of the success of their most recent film, Gunpowder Milkshake, they have decided to work on another installment in the series.
A number of talent agencies, including UTA, XYZ, and Kim Jaime at Jackoway, collaborate with Wolfe.
