Sam Heughan might be a global megastar now, but he still hasn’t forgotten the fight he had with Outlander’s producers over a nude scene early in the show’s run.
The 42–year–old Scottish star recalled how he “felt betrayed” after he was asked to do a nude scene shortly after filming a sexual assault scene in which his character suffered sexual violence.
“It was very uncomfortable and it was just very insensitive,” he told Variety’s Super Saturday.
He said that he and the show’s producers “had a huge fight about it” after which he asked producers not to “do it in a way that was exploitative or sexual.”
Although he did not go into further detail, he made it clear that he was uncomfortable with the entire concept. “I was like, ‘OK, we can do this, but let’s do it tastefully,’” he said.
