Monse’s mom died after Monse and Julia reunited. After the reunion, Monse turned down Julia’s offer to live with them. Shortly thereafter, we learned from Jasmine that Julia committed suicide after hearing about Monse turning her down.

Monse’s mother died on the show. The lie that followed her reunion with her mother and Monse outrightly declining her offer of what seemed like a luxurious life, we learned of her mother’s death.
