“Mom” was, by all accounts, a remarkable show.
It premiered in 2013 and was, incredibly, renewed for an eighth and final season.
But on May 14, 2017, CBS cancelled the show.
The comedy’s original premise centered on Christy Plunkett and her drug addiction as she navigated motherhood.
It was an emotional rollercoaster of a show.
“Mom” was also a critical success.

There are eight seasons of the CBS comedy show Mom, but Mark Harmon decided to leave after 18 years so they wrapped up the series with a meaningful and realistic ending. If he had not left, she would have directed him in four episodes which were a gift. As it is, “The Family Comedy TV Series Mom started from September 23, 2013 at CBS Channel from United States.” The 170 episodes that have aired so far have been all about mom Corinne’s life.
“We had a lot of talk about what this last season was going to be, and we didn’t want it to be a big, happy, unrealistic ending. We wanted it to have the same kind of endings that we had on the show all along. In the end, it boiled down to the idea that this is a story about a mother and daughter, and the mother wants some happiness for herself.”
