It’s not hard to guess who Sen. Rand Paul is backing in the spat between Neil Young and Joe Rogan. The Republican senator took to Twitter on Saturday night to celebrate the singer–songwriter’s exit from Spotify, tweeting a rewrite of his favorite hit, “My My, Hey Hey (Out of the Blue).”
“My My, Hey Hey (Out of the Blue)” came after Young revealed he had pulled all of his albums from the streaming service, claiming that it was exploiting musicians for profit.
Paul—notorious for his own anti–vaxxer beliefs—wrote: “Neil Young’s seminal albums, such as ‘After the Gold Rush’ and ‘Harvest’, should be enjoyed in their entirety, not split apart for easy exploitation.”
While Young has not directly spoken about Paul, he has retweeted several other politicians, including Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders, who have decried Spotify’s business model and spoken up for musicians’ rights.
Supermodel Gigi Hadid has called it quits over the cascading fallout over Twitter Blue and the site’s new management.
